Coming face to face with the majesty of creation causes the burdens of my heart to lift away. Physically moving my body from inside to outside activates a shift in my emotional state.</p>
<p>The picture displayed in the sky can never be duplicated. The view found in nature is more beautiful than any painting an artist could create. Each time I look above the clouds, I see a striking new scene. From that beauty, I draw inspiration for life. </p>
<p>Unlike in the predictable indoors, the sights, smells, and sounds are different every time I go outside. The freshness of the outdoors prompts my discovery.<span id="more-590"></span></p>
<p>I seize every opportunity to be outside because I enjoy spending time outdoors. There is something about being outdoors that melts away the stress that is contained within four walls. A change of scenery refreshes my soul.</p>
<p>Outdoors, I can meditate, breathe, and exercise. Long walks in nature surpass walking on a treadmill at the gym any day. I forget my troubles when I connect with nature.</p>
<p>Breathing in fresh air is healthy for me. When I breathe in deeply and slowly, I fill my lungs with air and increase the oxygen flow to my brain. I am able to clear my mind just by taking a breath of fresh air.</p>
<p>Today, I choose to delight in the beauty of nature while spending time outdoors. I appreciate the scenery and the effect it has on me. </p>

<p>1.	What can I gain from spending a few minutes gazing at the sky today?<br />
2.	How is taking a walk outdoors better than going to the gym?<br />
3.	How can I benefit from breathing fresh air deeply?</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Summer is a time to go outside and soak up the beauty of nature. After a long winter, I am determined to enjoy my summer vacation time. Nothing gets in my way of having a good time in the sun. </p>
<p>I make a mental inventory of all the things I love about my body. I start with my genuine smile. My smile radiates the confidence I feel in my soul. My confidence is what makes the real splash.</p>
<p>When I am out in the sun, I am concerned with getting a nice tan and having a good time. The shape of my body is the farthest thought from my mind. The beach is far from a body-judging contest; it is a place to lay back.<span id="more-579"></span></p>
<p>In front of the mirror, I look myself in the eye and speak words of affirmation to myself. I am beautiful from the inside out. The beauty inside me radiates through my face and overtakes my appearance.</p>
<p>I am relaxed about my looks. Time spent in the sun is mean to be fun without thinking about my body. Everyone has a feature that they dislike about their own figure. I refrain from being critical of others the same way that I want them to overlook my imperfections.</p>
<p>Today, I choose to relax about my looks by accepting my body the way it is and dressing it with confidence. I focus on having fun and I shut out any thoughts of comparison.</p>
<p>Self-Reflection Questions:</p>
<p>1.	Am I self-conscious about how I look in a swimsuit?<br />
2.	How can I choose a swimsuit that flatters my body type?<br />
3.	Why is it important to have a positive self-image?</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>There are many stereotypes about the single lifestyle. However, I am proud that my life avoids stereotyping. I am single by choice.</p>
<p>I enjoy being single because I answer only to myself. </p>
<p>I choose how to spend my money without the need to consult with someone else.</p>
<p>I distribute my time as I please.</p>
<p>I keep my home as I like it without worry that my decor or cleanliness is not up to par with the expectations of a partner. <span id="more-521"></span></p>
<p>I value that I am able to live life on a whim. </p>
<p>I love the freedom of making my own decisions without having to ask someone for consent or worrying about their feelings. </p>
<p>Unlike many other single folks, I avoid spending my time searching for &#8220;the one.&#8221; I am perfectly content living my life singly. I am not looking for a missing piece to my puzzle because my puzzle has been long solved; I complete myself!</p>
<p>If the time ever comes to devote myself to someone, I will only choose a person that complements my personality. I refuse to change my personality or appearance for someone else, because I am perfect just the way I am. </p>
<p>Today, I embrace the single life. I cherish my time alone. I socialize with friends regularly and value the privacy within my own home. </p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Reaching for unhealthy foods is convenient. Punching a button on the vending machine or pulling into a drive thru is certainly far more appealing than cooking halibut or chopping vegetables, especially when I am hungry and hurried. </p>
<p>On the other hand, preparing healthy meals is time consuming, but it is certainly worth the effort. </p>
<p>My health is important to me. It takes precedence over the convenience of 5-minute meals. Convenience always comes at a price. In this case, the price I’m paying is sacrificing nutrition and playing Russian roulette with my health! </p>
<p>Healthy eating revitalizes my life! My good health enables me to play with my children, keep my physique in good shape, cut down on medical expenses, and increase my lifespan.<span id="more-515"></span> </p>
<p>I would be a fool to pass up all of these benefits in favor of a quick burger or a bar of chocolate! For this reason, I make it a point to cook healthy meals and make conscious decisions when it comes to snacks. </p>
<p>Healthy foods taste better, fresher, and more wholesome than unhealthy foods. Eating healthily also provides me with a sense of empowerment.</p>
<p>Being busy is no longer an excuse. There are millions of individuals that manage to check off every task on their to-do list and still sit down for a wholesome meal three times per day. </p>
<p>My body is a temple and I treat it like my most prized possession! </p>
<p>Today, I change my life one granola bar at a time! I value my well being and consume healthy meals to fortify my body and soul. </p>

<p>1.	<strong>Do I rely on food as an emotional escape from reality?</strong><br />

There is a time for work, but there is also a time to let my hair down and have fun. Going on vacation with my family allows me to recharge the batteries of our bond.</p>
<p>When planning a vacation, I choose a location where every member of my family can find something that they like to do. My family members feel valued when their personal interests are taken into account.</p>
<p>While on vacation, I aim to spend the maximum amount of time possible interacting with my family. The television remains turned off to allow us time to connect.<span id="more-582"></span></p>
<p>I free myself from any thought about work that may be lurking near my mind. When I separate time for my family, I focus solely on them and put work aside. My work phone and computer remain turned off during family time.</p>
<p>Life goes at such a fast pace that sometimes I am unable to keep up with those whom I love most. Going on vacation together gives me a chance to catch up with my loved ones and spend quality time with them. </p>
<p>On vacation, I ask my children lots of questions to get to know them better. I actively listen to my kids when they speak. Although I have a planned itinerary, my family is more important than any plan.</p>
<p>Today, I am eager to go on vacation with my family. I am determined to make it happen and to have the best time we&#8217;ve ever had together.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Love is the most powerful feeling that I could ever experience. Love is stronger than hate. Love is stronger than pain.</p>
<p>I love those who have hurt me. Loving others doesn&#8217;t mean that I approve of their offense. Rather, it&#8217;s simply my way of preventing bitterness from taking root in me and destroying me from the inside out. An offense hurts, but bitterness destroys, that is why I choose to love and forgive.</p>
<p>When another person hurts me, love reveals to me the hurt inside that person. People who hurt others are often hurting even more themselves. Through love, I can see that person differently and, rather than just forgive them, I can actually begin to feel love for them.<span id="more-524"></span></p>
<p>When someone hurts me, love causes me to pray for them. When I pray for another, my feelings toward them transform to feelings of care and concern.</p>
<p>To be able to love someone past the hurt, I first evaluate their intentions. People are not perfect and sometimes do things they don&#8217;t mean to do. In those instances, I am gracious and humble enough to accept people just the way they are.</p>
<p>There are some people who are hurtful on purpose. Those people are the hardest to love, but they are the ones that need the most love. Instead of stepping down to their level and engaging in immature behavior, I choose to love them anyway.</p>
<p>Today, I choose to love others regardless of how they treat me. My heart is free from the chains of bitterness that try to trap me. Offenses have no authority over my heart. </p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The only person I can control is me. I let go of my tendency to try to control the opinions and decisions of others. </p>
<p>Just as I expect to have the right to express my own opinion, I must accept the fact that others may disagree with me from time to time. </p>
<p>At times, I wish I could take charge of a situation or control the outcome, but I know that is often outside of my control. </p>
<p>Nothing positive can come from agonizing over something that is out of my control. When the outcome is in the hands of someone else, all I can do is hope for the best and plan for the worst.<span id="more-519"></span></p>
<p>While I accept the situations that I cannot control, I actively seek solutions to the ones I can. </p>
<p>Family disputes are within my control. Work-related troubles may sometimes be within my control. However, political hardships or the behavior of another person are outside my area of control. </p>
<p>For my own sanity, I relinquish my grasp on situations that I have no say in. Unexpected incidents are a part of life. When life throws me curveballs, I handle them graciously. </p>
<p>When I am given lemons, I make fresh, tasty lemonade. And if that does not satisfy me, I make lemon pie! One way or another, I find a viable solution to my challenges.</p>
<p>There is always a positive aspect to every negative situation. By removing my emotions from the situation, I can begin to see things in a new light. </p>
<p>Today, I understand that certain situations are out of my control. The only person I have power over is me.</p>
<p><strong>Self-Reflection Questions:</strong></p>
<p><strong>1.	Am I controlling because I do not trust others to handle things correctly?</strong><br />
<strong>2.	Is my opinion overbearing? </strong><br />
<strong>3.	How can I improve the situations I can control?</strong></p>

The sound of the waves, the smell of the salty breeze, and the feel of the cool sand beneath my feet take me away from reality and fill me with serenity.</p>
<p>From the minute I exit my car, I hear the crashing waves and feel a cool breeze caress my skin. As the wind strokes my face, I feel my stress flying away. I am left with peace and tranquility.</p>
<p>Out of all the beautiful places on the earth, the beach is the most unique. When I lie down on the shore and gaze out at the water, I am overcome with the vastness of creation. I feel my blood pressure and heart rate gently go down with every breath.</p>
<p>In profound amazement, I stand and stare at the immensity of my surroundings. I meditate on what my eyes are taking in and what the view tells me about the world. Looking out at the ocean, I realize that there is so much more to life than could ever be discovered.</p>
<p>I am reminded that I am only one piece of the puzzle of creation, designed by the same hand that painted the ocean. Standing in the midst of grandeur makes me feel empowered!</p>
<p>Inner peace is born when I release my cares upon the water and I allow confidence to swell up in me. I know my purpose has been designed as deliberately as the line that divides water and land.</p>
<p>Today, I choose to plan a trip to the beach so I can get away and lose myself in the glory of creation.</p>

<p>When someone does something that hurts me, I quickly forget it and move on. I deserve to live a life free from hatred and resentment. My life abounds in grace and mercy.</p>
<p>When I make a mistake, I love to be forgiven. The feeling of receiving a second chance is sweeter than honey. I treat others they way I want to be treated; therefore, I give those who hurt me a second chance.</p>
<p>Lingering offenses cloud my vision like a winter fog. When I let go of the past, the light of forgiveness evaporates the fog and clears up my view. Instead of putting people under a critical microscope, I am free to enjoy their company.<span id="more-472"></span></p>
<p>I choose to see the best in the people around me and believe that there is good within them. Regardless of what a person has done to me in the past, I open my heart to them without reservations.</p>
<p>When I have trouble getting past an offense and treating a person with grace, I change my point of view. I try to see them the way their loved ones see them and the way they see themselves, so I can learn to love them.</p>
<p>I pray for those who hurt me. It is hard to stay mad at someone for whom I pray. Prayer is a selfless act that stirs love inside me and causes me to care for others.</p>
<p>Today, I choose to guard the garden of my heart with a watchful eye. I prevent new offenses from taking root and growing like weeds. Overlooking offenses keeps my garden looking absolutely beautiful!</p>

<p>I am a parent, spouse, and career-minded individual. But first and foremost, I am me! </p>
<p>I am a person with dreams, desires, and needs. Though I have commitments to others, which I value dearly, I must oil my own wheels before I can serve them. </p>
<p>My health is at the top of my priorities. I like to take a 30-minute jog each morning. Not only does this keep me slim and healthy, but for a brief moment in time, it allows me to be at one with my thoughts. <span id="more-469"></span></p>
<p>My meals are balanced and fulfilling, and my snacks are nutritious. I nix soda from my intake altogether and whittle my coffee habit down to just one cup per day. </p>
<p>Quality time with my spouse gives me the energy to make it through a tough week. The more intimate the occasion is, the more connected we feel. We are most comfortable when it is just the two of us having a cookout in the backyard or a romantic picnic in the park. </p>
<p>I am my first priority, not because I am selfish, but because I know that others depend on my wellbeing for their livelihood. For this reason, I indulge in a lengthy relaxation session each week. Sometimes it is going to the spa. Other times, I kick back by watching movies in bed. </p>
<p>In addition to my weekly relaxation session, I also make it a point to wind down each evening with quiet activities that relieve any built-up stress from the day.</p>
<p>Today, I dedicate time to myself because I am my first priority, then everything else falls into place!</p>
